Residential Upholstered Furniture

Returns and Exchanges

We will allow you to exchange residential upholstered furniture within 3 days of when you receive it, for product of the same or lesser value. All exchanges will be handled by your local La-Z-Boy furniture store handling your order. Fabric protection and delivery charges are not taken into account in determining the value of the product you received nor are they refundable. You may not receive payment in exchanging for an item of lesser value. All exchanged items must be in “new” condition (no smoke, pet odors, hair, soil, etc.). You will be required to pay a restocking fee up to 30% for exchanged merchandise. There are separate charges if you want us to pick up your merchandise or deliver the replacement merchandise. You cannot return or exchange after 3 days of receiving your merchandise.

Mattresses

Returns and Exchanges.

We will allow you to return your mattress at any time during your 100-day trial period. If your mattress was never removed from its box, you'll print a prepaid shipping label and drop the box off at UPS. For mattresses that are fully expanded and out of the box, please contact us at +1 800-375-6890 to initiate your return. We'll work with you to arrange a pickup through a local charity or recycling partner and refund you in full. Your original form of payment will be refunded within two weeks. Your 100-day trial begins when your mattress is delivered.

Limited Warranty

La-Z-Boy warrants your mattress for a period of ten (10) years from the date of purchase. This Limited Warranty covers the following defects in material and workmanship:

  • Any visible indentation or sag greater than one (1) inch that is not associated with an indentation or sag which results from use of an improper or unsupportive foundation.
  • Any physical flaw in the mattress that causes the foam material to split or crack, despite normal usage and proper handling.
  • Any manufacturing defect in the mattress cover such as the fabric tearing or stitching unraveling.

This Limited Warranty does not cover the following:

  • Changes to your mattress that are caused by or result from normal wear and use (please note that “normal wear” assumes and requires that your mattress is continuously supported by a proper foundation sufficient to support the distributed weight of your body and the mattress itself);
  • A normal increase in softness of the foam material;
  • Individual or personalized preferences relating to firmness, texture, comfort, etc.;
  • [Mattresses sold “as-is”, “preconditioned”, “reconditioned”, “used”, “comfort return”, “returned”, “previously owned”, or any other similar wording indicating that the mattress is not “new” or of “first quality”, or has previously been purchased or used by another consumer;]
  • Minor imperfections and slight cosmetic flaws;
  • Individual or personalized allergies and sensitivities;
  • Naturally-occurring cotton or foam aromas; and
  • Mattresses that are located outside of the United States at the time you wish to take advantage of this Limited Warranty.

In addition, this Limited Warranty does not cover conditions resulting from misuse, neglect or physical abuse or damage to the mattress. Accordingly, the following circumstances, if discovered upon inspection, will void your Limited Warranty: (a) any unsanitary condition; (b) burns, cuts or tears; (c) liquid damage or stains; (d) use of the mattress on an improper bed frame; (e) physically abusing the mattress; (f) attempting to clean the mattress in an inappropriate manner; and (g) improper storage of the mattress (including storage in damp locations, areas infested with insects or rodents, or any other unprotected storage areas).

In the event of a defect, La-Z-Boy’s sole and exclusive liability and your sole remedy under this Limited Warranty will be a replacement mattress. Should shipping costs be required to return your mattress, you will [not] be responsible for those costs. If you wish to replace your mattress with a more expensive mattress, you will be required to pay the difference between the original purchase price of the mattress and that of the upgraded mattress.

Replaced mattresses are subject to the same Limited Warranty as the original mattress. If you obtain a replacement mattress, the warranty term of the replacement mattress begins from the date of purchase of the original mattress. Outdoor Furniture

Returns and Exchanges

We will allow you to return or exchange outdoor furniture within 30 days of when you receive it. You may not receive payment in exchanging for an item of lesser value, and will be responsible for any additional cost in exchanging for an item of greater value. All returned or exchanged items must be in “new” condition (no smoke, pet odors, hair, soil, etc.). You will be required to pay a restocking fee up to 30% for returned or exchanged merchandise. There are separate charges if you want us to pick up your merchandise or deliver the replacement merchandise. You cannot return or exchange after 30 days of receiving your merchandise.

Limited Warranty

RESIDENTIAL LIMITED WARRANTY (North American continent only)

CAST AND EXTRUDED ALUMINUM FRAMES – FIFTEEN (15) YEARS LIMITED

If the cast or extruded aluminum frame fails structurally (i.e., broken frame or welds) under normal use or conditions we will at our option, replace or repair the frame in the original color and style, if available, or in a similar style if color or model has been discontinued. If the finish peels or blisters within fifteen (15) years from the date of purchase, we will repair or refinish the frame in the original color and style, or in a similar style if color or model has been discontinued. Stamped aluminum tabletops carry the same warranty as extruded aluminum frames. Components such as chair feet are subject to wear and tear and are not considered part of the frame.

BRASS FRAMES – FIFTEEN (15) YEARS LIMITED

If the brass frame fails structurally (i.e., broken frame or welds) under normal use or conditions within fifteen (15) years from the date of purchase, we will replace or repair the frame, if available, or in a similar style if discontinued at our option. Components such as chair feet are subject to wear and tear and are not considered part of the frame.

WOVEN FRAMES – FIFTEEN (15) YEARS LIMITED

If the extruded aluminum frame fails structurally (i.e., broken frame or welds) under normal use or conditions within fifteen (15) years we will at our option, replace or repair the frame in the original frame color and style, if available, or in a similar style if color or style has been discontinued. If the hand-woven resin weave breaks or structurally deteriorates, or if the weave excessively fades or becomes discolored within three (3) years from the date of purchase, we will at our option, replace, repair or refinish the product in the original color and style, if available, or in a similar color and style if the original has been discontinued. The weave will not be warrantied if the structural deterioration, unraveling, discoloration, fading, etc. is due to chemicals, cleaning products, sun lotions et al, use in commercial settings, extreme heat or sunlight. Components such as chair feet are subject to wear and tear and are not considered part of the frame.

UPHOLSTERED FRAMES – FIFTEEN (15) YEARS LIMITED

If the upholstered frame fails structurally (i.e., broken frame) within fifteen (15) years from the date of purchase, we will at our option, replace, repair or refinish the product in the original color and style, if available, or in a similar color and style if the original has been discontinued. If the upholstered frame fabric (not the loose cushion) tears, or fades excessively within three (3) years of the date of purchase, we will at our option repair or replace the fabric in the original color and pattern if available, or in a similar color and pattern if the original has been discontinued. If the finish peels or blisters within three (3) years from the date of purchase, we will repair or refinish the frame in the original color and style, or in a similar style if color has been discontinued. Components such as chair feet are subject to wear and tear and are not considered part of the frame. Any failures in stitching, zippers, sling rails, cording, buttons, cushion foam or other areas of workmanship will be warrantied for one (1) year.

WOOD FRAMES – THREE (3) YEARS LIMITED

If the teak or mahogany furniture fails structurally (i.e., broken frame) within three (3) years from the date of purchase, we will, at our option, replace, repair or refinish the product in the original color and style, if available, or in a similar color and style if the original has been discontinued. Wood frames require user maintenance and changes in the color of wood are normal and should be expected to occur over time as the natural material ages. Therefore, fading and color changes in wood frames is not covered by this warranty. Components such as chair feet are subject to wear and tear and are not considered part of the frame.

FABRIC ON CUSHIONS, SLINGS, UMBRELLAS AND FURNITURE COVERS – FIVE (5) YEARS LIMITED

If the fabric on a cushion, sling or umbrella becomes unserviceable due to color or strength loss from normal usage and exposure conditions, including sunlight and atmospheric chemicals within five (5) years of the date of purchase, we will repair or replace the fabric in the original color and pattern if available, or in a similar color and pattern if the original has been discontinued. This warranty does not cover normal care and cleaning, damage from misuse or abuse, improper installation, or costs associated with replacement of the fabric, including labor and installation. Mildew and mold grow on dirt, pollen and other organic matter; so simple routine cleanings will prevent them from forming on fabrics. Helpful hints for removing mold and mildew are provided on our cleaning page. Any failures in stitching, zippers, sling rails, cording, buttons, cushion foam or other areas of workmanship will be warrantied for one year. The fabric will not be warrantied if deterioration, discoloration, fading, etc. is due to chemicals, cleaning products, sun lotions et al, use in commercial settings, extreme heat or sunlight.

LEATHER AND SUEDE ON CUSHIONS AND PILLOWS – FIVE (5) YEARS LIMITED

If the leather or suede fabric on a cushion or pillow becomes unserviceable due to color or strength loss from normal indoor usage within five (5) years of the date of purchase, we will repair or replace the fabric in the original color and pattern if available, or in a similar color and pattern if the original has been discontinued. This warranty does not cover normal care and cleaning, damage from misuse or abuse, improper installation, or costs associated with replacement of the fabric, including labor and installation. Mildew and mold grow on dirt, pollen and other organic matter; so simple routine cleanings will prevent them from forming on fabrics. Helpful hints for removing mold and mildew are provided on our cleaning page. Any failures in stitching, zippers, cording, cushion foam or other areas of workmanship will be warrantied for one year. The leather and suede fabric will not be warrantied if deterioration, discoloration, fading, etc. is due to chemicals, cleaning products, sun lotions et al, use in commercial settings, external extreme heat or sunlight.

The Limited Warranty on Leather and Suede cushions and pillows do not cover damages resulting from excessive soiling, improper or unapproved cleaning methods, fading or other damages resulting from exposure to sunlight, damages resulting from household humidity, or damages resulting from any liquid, including but not limited to alcohol or water. Note: Any signs of outdoor use or external exposure render the warranty void.

VINYL AND SUNCLOTH® STRAP – FIVE (5) YEARS LIMITED

If a strap breaks within five (5) years of the date of purchase, a replacement strap will be sent directly to the client, in the original color and style, if available, or in a similar color and style if the original has been discontinued. If a strap becomes faded or mildewed within two years of the date of purchase, a replacement strap will be sent directly to the client, in the original color and style, if available, or in a similar color and style if the original has been discontinued. The strap will not be warrantied if the deterioration, discoloration, fading, etc. is due to chemicals, cleaning products, sun lotions et al, use in commercial settings, extreme heat or sunlight.

CONCRETE, STONE, MARBLE, AND RESINWOOD TOPS – THREE (3) YEARS LIMITED

If a stone, marble, or Resinwood table top fails structurally within three (3) years from the date of purchase, we will, at company option, repair or replace the table top, in the original color and style if available, or in a similar color and style if original has been discontinued. Painted decorations on tabletops may fade when exposed to direct sunlight. This fading is excluded from the warranty. See other exclusions under the Exclusions section. Natural stone tops are sealed at the factory and should be re-sealed annually for proper care and maintenance.

UMBRELLAS AND UMBRELLA BASES – ONE (1) YEAR LIMITED

If an umbrella or umbrella base fails structurally within one (1) year from the date of purchase, we will at our option, repair or replace the umbrella or umbrella base, in the original color and style, if available, or in a similar color and style if the original has been discontinued.

COMPONENT PARTS – ONE (1) YEAR LIMITED

If a component part (glide, bolt, wheel, etc.) fails due to manufacturing defect within one (1) year from the date of purchase, we will at our option, repair or replace the part in the original color and style, if available, or in a similar color and style if the original has been discontinued.

SHIPPING AND HANDLING

If required, we will pay for shipping of damaged or replacement products within the continental U.S. for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase.

LIMITED WARRANTY

This warranty is a limited warranty. Regular care and maintenance is required to maintain the warranty. Warranty applies to the original purchaser only. Proof of purchase including original receipt showing items purchased is required. Photographs/digital images are required in certain instances. Warranty coverage begins on the date of purchase. In some cases, there will be a pro-rated charge for the time the product was in use. If a color or model has been discontinued and replacement is required, we reserve the right to replace the affected item only with a similar color or model. This is a residential warranty and does not apply to commercial use.

Note: The Company or its suppliers may discontinue any component part such as fabric, paint, etc. at any time.

Failure caused by unreasonable or abusive use, fire, freight damage, acts of nature (such as, but not limited to, freezing or high winds), suntan oil or other chemicals, normal fading, scratching, or chipping of the finish, fading, weathering or staining or discoloration of furniture, accidental damage repair or modifications by consumer, glass breakage, commercial use and normal wear and tear are excluded from this warranty.

Defects that develop due to extreme climate conditions are not covered by this warranty.

Stone tops are handcrafted from natural stone. Color and grain variations are inherent in natural stone materials and are not covered under warranty.

This warranty does not apply to floor samples or “seconds.”

WINTER STORAGE

During winter, all furniture should be stored indoors in an upright position to allow for proper water drainage. Storing furniture upside- down may cause water to accumulate and freeze inside the frame, causing serious structural damage that is not covered by this warranty.

Office Furniture

We will allow you to return or exchange office furniture within 30 days of when you receive it. You may not receive payment in exchanging for an item of lesser value, and will be responsible for any additional cost in exchanging for an item of greater value. Limited Warranty

La-Z-Boy Contract Furniture warrants the products it manufactures against defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for the expected useful life of the product from the date of shipment. This limited warranty is valid only to the original purchaser using the product for its intended purpose, provided the product is covered in its original cover. This warranty does not apply to expected changes resulting from normal wear and tear, use and aging of the product. Specifically excluded from this limited warranty are defects and damage resulting from abuse, neglect, misuse, or excessive use. Product alteration, substitution of components or materials, improper cleaning or repair, and installation and handling damages are also not covered by this warranty. All other express or implied warranties made by agents, dealers, sales representatives or any other representatives, including any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are hereby excluded.

There are no representations as to the capacity or performance of the products sold hereunder except as set forth in the price book or quotation specifications, if any, and such representations are expressly conditioned upon the correctness of the data furnished by purchaser and upon the products being properly installed and maintained.

La-Z-Boy’s sole obligation shall be to repair any defective product or product component covered under this warranty, including shipping and labor, during the warranty period. In no event shall La-Z-Boy be liable for any consequential or incidental damages, including lost profits or revenues incurred by the purchaser with respect to any goods furnished by La-Z-Boy. Expenses incurred by purchaser in repairing or replacing La-Z-Boy’s product must be pre-approved in writing by La-Z-Boy.

La-Z-Boy offers no warranty on the following product components or characteristics: all forms of upholstery, including fabric, vinyl and leather, as well as wood grain, color and texture. La-Z-Boy offers no warranty on COM, COL, or any other special order fabric used at the request of the Purchaser. Warranties offered by cover suppliers to La-Z-Boy, if any, are hereby assigned to Purchaser.

In the event a product has to be returned to the factory for verification of a defect and/or repair, it must be pre-approved in writing by La-Z-Boy, freight pre-paid, and include a copy of the original invoice with the date and name of original purchaser.

La-Z-Boy hereby assigns to the original owner any and all warranties offered by its component suppliers. To the extent the terms of these warranties differ from the terms of the Limited Warranty, the terms of the suppliers' component warranties shall apply. However, La-Z-Boy does not guarantee that the component supplier will comply with any terms of the warranty of such supplier.

LA-Z-BOY WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES INCLUDING ANY LOSS, EXPENSE, OR DAMAGE OTHER THAN TO THE PRODUCT ITSELF THAT MAY RESULT FROM A DEFECT IN THE PRODUCT. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW FOR THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CONSEQUENTIAL AND INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY.

LA-Z-BOY MAKES NO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THESE AND ALL OTHER IMPLIED WARRANTIES ARE SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMED. Claims Information

To obtain available warranty service, please call us and we will arrange for our service technician to address your problem. For problems covered by a warranty, we will repair or replace your merchandise in our discretion. If we replace your product with an item with the same vendor style number, there will be no charge for the replacement (except for freight charges if applicable, see the terms of your warranty). If we authorize replacement merchandise in a different style or grade of fabric from your original item, we will provide you a credit equal to the purchase price on your original receipt toward the purchase of the new item. You may not use the credit to receive cash. If you do not have your receipt, and we cannot otherwise determine your original purchase price, the credit will be based on the lowest selling price of a like item (as determined by us in our discretion) within the last 90 days. Our warranties cover only original purchasers from authorized dealers. If you are unable to provide proof that you are the original purchaser of the merchandise, we may deny warranty service in our sole discretion. For a charge, we may arrange service on merchandise that is beyond the warranty period. We do not provide warranty service on As-Is merchandise. Your warranty is limited as described in the warranty information attached to your product. Except for that warranty, WE MAKE NO WARRANTY, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.Some states do not allow exclusions of warranties, so these exclusions may not apply to you.

WARRANTIES ARE FOR REPAIR, REPLACEMENT, OR SUBSTITUTION ONLY, IN LA-Z-BOY'S SOLE DISCRETION. REFUNDS ARE NOT AVAILABLE EXCEPT AS PROVIDED HEREIN.

LA-Z-BOY WILL PAY REASONABLE AND CUSTOMARY RATES FOR LABOR DURING THE PERIOD OF THE LABOR WARRANTY. THE CONSUMER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LABOR COSTS AFTER THE STATED TIME PERIOD.

THE CONSUMER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR IN-HOME INSPECTION FEES, TRANSPORTATION OF THE PRODUCT TO AND FROM THE DEALER AND TO AND FROM THE LA-Z-BOY FACTORY (MOST REPAIRS DO NOT REQUIRE RETURN TO THE FACTORY).

WARRANTIES ARE VOIDED BY EVIDENCE OF EXCESSIVE SOILING, IMPROPER CLEANING OR TREATMENT, ABUSE, OR ABNORMAL USE OR USE CONTRARY TO THE ADVISORIES OR INSTRUCTIONS CONTAINED HEREIN.

THESE WARRANTIES ARE YOUR EXCLUSIVE REMEDY AND NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, APPLY. This Limited Warranty will be governed by the laws of the State of Michigan.

Arbitration

In the event a dispute arises between you and La-Z-Boy arising out of this Limited Warranty, such dispute will be determined and settled by binding arbitration between the parties, in accordance with the Commercial Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”). You must seek arbitration for disputes arising out of this Limited Warranty prior to exercising any rights or seeking any remedies created by the Title I of the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. If you choose to pursue any rights and remedies that are not created by Title I of the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act, then arbitration is not required.

Arbitration will take place in Monroe, Michigan.

The arbitration will not be combined with any other proceeding or arbitration against one of the parties. Each party will designate one arbitrator and the two designated arbitrators will select a third arbitrator, who will serve as the chair of the arbitration panel. If the two arbitrators cannot agree on the third arbitrator, then the AAA will appoint the third arbitrator. Barring extraordinary circumstances, the arbitrators will issue their decision within 120 days from the date the third arbitrator is selected by the two designated arbitrators or appointed by the AAA. The arbitrators may extend this time limit for an additional 30 days in the interests of justice. All arbitration proceedings will be closed to the public and confidential and all related records will be permanently sealed, except as necessary to obtain court confirmation of the arbitration award. The decision and the arbitrators’ award will be in writing and will include a statement setting forth the reasons for the disposition of any claim. A dissenting decision will also be set forth in writing. The arbitrators’ award will be final and binding on the parties, and judgment thereon may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
